How It Started
In 2012 Founder & President, Scott Henderson, envisioned the concept of a salad restaurant providing fresh local produce combined with fast and friendly service. His mother and business partner, Cindy Henderson, offered her full support as she felt the concept was a perfect continuation of the family’s passion of the farming industry. Faith, food, family, and farming has always been a way of life for the family.
With roots planted deep - Scott’s Grandfather, Joe Liuzza, was the heart of the Henderson/Liuzza Family. He was an ambitious young farmer who began his career in 1943 with only 20 acres and a dream. He planted the seeds to what has now grown into the largest strawberry farm in the state of Louisiana.
Holding the family’s core values close, the first Salad Station opened in Hammond, Louisiana - and much more than a restaurant was brought to life. A unique and healthy concept was formed where guests could come to express their creativity through FRESH food in a FUN place. Four generations later, the family still continues to work and the legacy lives on -not only with The Salad Station, but also Berry Town Produce, The Berry Barn, LiuzzaLand, and Liuzza Produce Farms.
